About the Event
Together Soprano Jelena Stefanic and Conductor Simon Despalj have curated a beautiful concert celebrating the music of Croatia. Hoping to promote their culture and composers beyond their borders this program incudes hidden gems as well as pieces well known.
Born in Varaždin (Croatia), Jelena Štefanić gave her stage debut in Varaždin as Hyale in Charpentier's Acteon under the baton of Laurence Cumming when she was only 16 year old. Since then Štefanić has performed wide range of roles, spanning from iconic Baroque heroines to Mozart, Verdi and Puccini.
All proceeds from this concert will be donated to the Croatian Music Institute in Zagreb, devestated by an earthquake in 2020. For more information check out http://www.hgz.hr/donations/
